Boston Cannons
Winter/Spring Internships (February – May 2020): Full-Time Interns will work 3-5 days/week; in a combination of office and community events covering weekdays, evenings and/or weekends. A general schedule will be set for each intern position and selected candidate, but flexibility is necessary by the candidate to be available for out-of-office and weekend events. All interns will assist in Boston Cannons Front Office operations and will enjoy a hands-on experience on the front lines of running a professional sports team.
DEADLINE FOR WINTER/SPRING APPLICATIONS: DECEMBER 20, 2019
Summer Internships (Mid-May – End of September 2020): Game Day Interns will work every Cannons home game at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy (Scheduled TBD) during the season while getting experience in nearly every functional area of the sports business. Full Time In-office summer interns will work 3-5 days/week in a combination of office, game days, and community events covering weekdays, evenings and/or weekends. A general schedule will be set for each intern, but flexibility is needed to work out of office and weekend events. All interns may assist in general office operations and will learn about the various aspects of running a professional sports team. Interns must be available for ALL eight home games.

TICKET SERVICE AND OPERATIONS
The Ticket Service & Operations intern will assist in growing and managing our customer contact database. They will be responsible for updating our various customer databases including CRM, Salesforce, Groupmatics, TicketMaster and Constant Contact. Candidates must have experience in quantitative analysis and be comfortable handling large amounts of data in Excel. Various office projects will also be assigned as needed.
GRAPHIC DESIGN/SOCIAL MEDIA
The Graphic Design/Social Media intern will be responsible for supporting the graphic design needs of the team throughout the season. The candidate should have a strong design background in software programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and iMovie. Samples of work will be required for the interview process.
MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS
The Marketing and Communications intern will act as a liaison between the communication department and all other departments, and will be involved in marketing, PR, and sponsorship. The goal is to ensure efficiency and consistency across all departments. Flexibility and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is a crucial aspect of this position. Various office projects will also be assigned as needed.
OPERATIONS: FRONT OFFICE, TEAM AND GAME
The Front Office, Team & Game Operations intern will play a pivotal role in the planning of all game and team activities. This individual will work directly with the VP of Operations on a day to day basis to assist with team planning and game operations. Attention to detail and proactive planning are crucial aspects of this position. A desire to learn and work with the various departments that a professional sports team implements is also important. Various office projects will also be assigned as needed.
CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS ACTIVATION
These individuals will work in the Corporate Partnership department to efficiently manage the partner activations and deliverables for each team partner. It will require interns to work 3-5 days/week in office plus ALL home games and occasional events around the Boston area.
SPECIAL EVENTS
The Event Operations interns will play an important role in the planning and execution of all Cannons events. These individuals will work directly with the Corporate Partnerships and Event Planning team on a day to day basis to plan and promote all Cannons-based events. Organization and proactive planning are crucial aspects of this position. It will require interns to work 3-5 days/week in office plus ALL home games and occasional events around the Boston area.
GAME DAY ONLY
Game Day interns will work with different departments as assigned to ensure that all aspects of a Cannons game day run smoothly. These interns are expected to be available for all eight home games, with the opportunity to attend other Cannons events, and gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through a unique hands-on internship. A successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational skills along with initiative, resourcefulness, and an ability to collaborate with fellow team members for the achievement of department goals. Interns are encouraged to pursue areas of interest and have the opportunity for in-office experience.
