NextGenVest Money Mentor

Job Description:

As a NextGenVest Money Mentor Intern, you'll be making a positive impact on students and help them with the process of paying for college! This can all be done remotely from your own bedroom! Answer student questions about applying for financial aid and scholarships on our text message platform and be available at least 3-4 days covering shifts between 8am-12am.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Help guide students over our texting platform with financial aid, college apps, scholarships, budgeting, and all money decisions

+ Communicate key financial skills and concepts that you will be trained on through NextGenVest’s text message software

+ Research and organize information for unique situations and questions

+ Create a friendly environment for conversations with students over text using gifs and memes

+ Collaborate directly with the CEO, Kelly Peeler, to develop long-term communication strategy with students and learn more about the operations of a fast-growing tech start-up

+ All work can be done remotely from anywhere with a strong internet connection

+ You’ll have the opportunity to expand your writing skills and become a published author by writing articles for our blog

+ You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your marketing and social media skills by leading an information session about your university on our Snapchat story

 

WHO ARE YOU?

+ You’re passionate about helping others

+ You have applied for financial aid and scholarships yourself (so that you can relate to current high school students going through a similar process)

+ You have a typing speed of at least 55 words per minute 

+ You have great time management skills and can operate with little directive after training/instruction.

+ Bonus points if you've also done or are currently doing work study as an undergraduate and/or have experience tutoring/mentoring other students

 

REQUIREMENTS

+ Must be a current undergrad college student, Sophomore and up (no graduate students or alumni)

+ Must be available at least 16 hour a week covering your own selected 1 hour shifts between 8am-12am

+ All majors are welcome to apply

+ Minimum GPA: 2.5

+ Must have a Gmail account
