Coach Across Continents program description:
Coaches Across Continents is a global leader in the sport for social impact movement.  Our award-winning corporate partnerships and ‘Hat-Trick Initiative’ consist of comprehensive, year-round organizational development and sport for social impact education that focuses on local issues such as: female empowerment, including gender equity; conflict resolution, including social inclusion; health and wellness, including HIV/AIDS behavior change; child rights; vital life skills; and fun.

Our key to success is a unique Self-Directed Learning model that is based on our 'Chance to Choice' and ‘ASK for Choice’ curricula that educate people to identify, address, and solve problems specific to their communities.  We mentor organizations and empower communities to question harmful traditional, cultural, and religious practices; responsibly choose their own futures; and create sustainable change.

In 2014, we worked in 26 countries with 74 implementing partner programs and 1,099 member partner programs.  Overall, we educated and certified 3,157 community coaches and directly impacted 280,396 young people.

Coaches Across Continents actively uses volunteers to help deliver our programming throughout the year.  Volunteers are able to work with CAC for 2 weeks up to several months.

Coach for College program description:

Coach for College is a service learning program that brings together US student-athletes and Vietnamese university students to teach academics, sports, and life skills to children in rural Vietnam. The Varsity Club supports Coach for College because we believe in the impact the program has on the lives of both Vietnamese youth and our student-athletes who benefit from a truly transformational experience. We also believe that Harvard student-athletes are uniquely positioned to impact the lives of young students through sports and education, and that when you have the opportunity to put a Harvard ‘H’ on your chest, you have a responsibility to give back.

Each summer, through the generosity of Paul ‘52 and Harriet Weissman, the Weissman Foundation fully funds a number of Harvard student-athletes to participate in the Coach for College program.
